About
The Moroccan capital city of Rabat is the classroom in this interactive and engaging June three week short-term program. Known for its unique blend of African, European, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern influences, Morocco's melting pot has led to complex debates on issues throughout politics, the economy, religion, and more. Analyze and discuss such topics and leave Rabat with a deeper understanding of the ways in which this society lives.

- Postcolonial History of the Maghreb: Issues and Debates
- Social Movements in the Middle East and North Africa
Site visits and guest speakers bring lectures and course discussions to life as expert local professors lead the class through these captivating interdisciplinary topics. All courses are taught in English and are four credit hours each.
Each student is carefully paired with a homestay to share daily life with a local host family. All placements are made in the medina, the historical city center of Rabat and all meals and weekly laundry are included.
Outside of class, take part in a diverse set of cultural activities and events such as a day trip to Casablanca, a Moroccan cooking workshop, and a Moroccan drumming lesson.

Academic Programs Abroad (APA) Scholarships
Become the voice abroad for APA with regular blog and social media postings. Semester awards begin at $500 and summer awards begin at $300. Eligible for bonuses at the end of term for outstanding work.

Guidelines/Requirements:
Previous scholarship recipients have had a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater, previous experience running social media accounts for a business or organization, shown a keen interest in engaging in French and Francophone culture, and have had a serious desire to take part in a full-immersion program.
Become your cohort’s photographic or videographic historian for your term abroad. Your photos and/or videos may be featured on the APA website or in future promotional materials!
