What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was a very rewarding experience. Even 9 months later, I still rave about it. The people and culture there are just so different. I was also not expecting the people to be so friendly. I'm from the North East so it was complete 180 from what I'm used to.

I lived with a host family which was the only language component. In terms of living, the program put my very minimal Spanish skills to the test.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Nothing. I wish my attitude was different at the time. I was kind of negative while there. It occurred to me after how lucky I was to 1. be able to go and 2. be able to experience life with a local family.
