Best experience of my life! There is a reason I stayed another semester. Past Review
By Dylan N (Journalism., The University of Texas at Austin) - abroad from 08/21/2013 to 12/06/2013 with
AIFS: Florence - Richmond in Florence and Internship Program
I learned more about my self independence. I learned how big and small the world is at the same time. I learned about traveling and languages. Also that the US is not the biggest, best nation in the world.

* Food: |
The food does not get better than Italy! |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
My university did a very good job creating events for students to interact with local italian students and finding ways for us to get involved with the culture in Florence. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
There is an English doctor in Florence who has limited walk in hours, but is usually available help. |

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $300.00 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | My program had meal plan vouchers for local restaurants which really helped not spending a lot of money on food. |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
