I had never been to South America before so it was great to see the culture there. It was amazing and now I really want to check out more countries.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Really fun class, learned a lot about the islands |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Hotels were fine and my homestay was amazing. |
* Food: |
Awesome!! |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Only a low rating because we were there for such a short time! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
Didn't need to use it but it seemed readily available... you get an insurance card when you sign up for the program |
* Safety: |
No problems at all but we did take some extra precautions (carrying backpacks in front, staying in groups, etc.) |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
It was just great |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Almost all expenses are covered, you just need a buy a few meals and have some money to spend on souvenirs |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $100 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Bring lots of ones and fives, and a few tens and twenties. Not many places have change and it's easier to use smaller bills. Don't even worry about using a card except at ATMs. |

A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Elevation in Quito can be an issue for some people... but you will survive. Also, it's pretty fast paced, so be ready to be exhausted by the end of it. At the same time, we had some moments of total freedom and relaxation, so you'll get a break when you need it. |
