AIFS: Granada - University of Granada and Internship Program
Well, it helped my Spanish a mountain. I think it showed me that the American way of life is in no way the only way of life.

Review Your Program
|
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I had a great time going to class and really enjoyed it. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
I thought Paula and Inma were great. They were easily accessible. They were helpful in a multitude of ways from homework to where the nearest thrift store was. There was a newsletter every week which I really enjoyed and found useful. I don't think any other program did this and many of my friends from other groups were jealous. |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Housing was set up by the program prior to my arrival. I thought it was great we were centrally located. Nothing was much more than a 15 minute walk and if not much less. I didn't need to buy anything other than toiletries to settle in. My señora treated my roommate and I too well, which I often told her. She was great! |
| * Food: |
As I said my señora was a great cook. There was never a lack of food if anything there was consistently too much.(I guess there are worse problems to have.) |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We went to Gibraltar where I was bitten on the head by a monkey! Enough said. There were too many other trips and events to even start describing. From what I heard AIFS was one of the best at doing these trips. |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
| * Safety: |
I never felt unsafe in Granada. I fortunately had no health problems and cannot comment on that part. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | NO! Realize that euros are not dollars and what seems like a lot of money will not be nearly as much when you exchange it. Bring enough money to travel!! |
Language
| How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
| If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
