London is worth the money! Past Review
By Adam C (Economics., University of North Dakota) for
AIFS London - Richmond, The American International University in London
Yes, I gained more than just acedemic knowledge. I learned how to interact with other cultures, and became more of an adult. After studying abroad all I want to do is go back to Europe and travel again!

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The courses that I took were more focused on a couple tests and a project than on any type of daily work. Attendance was required in all classes, and if you miss more than a certain number of classes you fail the class. The grading system was very similar to what I am used to with 100-90 being an A 89-890 a B and so on. The teachers performed lecture in most classes but the class size was small and there was lots of class participation. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The classes are small and you will get lots of interaction with your teachers. London has a lot of traveling opportunities throughout Europe. The cleaning of the living areas were not the best at times. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
As a study abroad student you only recieve lunch and dinner Monday-Friday. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I traveled to Amsterdam, Paris, Greece, Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. All of these trips were great! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
The area in London where you live is very safe. There are police around to make you feel safe, and there were no problems with crime among students I knew. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
