My study abroad was definitively positive. It opened my eyes to the world out side of my comfort zone. Also it made me want to travel not only around the world but also the United State.This trip has made me a more confident and independent person.

The workload was not heavy at all. The professors understood that you wanted to travel and enjoy the city. It was challenging but not overbearing. |

The staff was very helpful with academics, housing, travelling, and getting to know the city. |

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The neighborhood was great. I lived in Trastevere so there was always good nightlife and something new to do every day. |

You got to choose where you ate with the use of meal tickets which had a monetary value. There were restaurants and grocery stores that excepted them. |

How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We went on trips throughout Italy. Also trips to museums and to parliament. |

How well were health issues addressed during the program? |

| * Safety: |
When you get to Rome the staff gives you a packet of safety tips. Things like not keeping your address on your keys, carry a copy of your passport on you at all times, don't leave personal belongings siting on the floor in a restaurant, etc. If you take these to heart and play it on the cautious side you will be fine. |

I practiced with my roommates and classmates. Yes most of the time some Italian was need for day to day interactions. Most people did speak English, but sometimes not very well |

A Look Back
| * What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Students who enjoy being independent and love big cities will enjoy this trip. You live on your own in a large cosmopolitan city with some language barriers. You have to be prepared to step out of your comfort zone to get the most out of your experience. |
