I loved studying abroad in Salzburg and I am glad I chose this program becausse everything worked out better than I could have hoped for. The city was beautiful and the people were interesting. It was also a very centrally located city so travelling was easy to accomplish.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was equally as much, but the subjects weren't as indepth as most of my home university courses. I really enjoyed my experience abroad. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Every question that I had was quickly answered, but i didn't really come across any situations where i needed my faculty leader for anything important. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
My roommate and i didn't need to buy much because we were porvided with a cleaning service that changed our sheets and towels. Other than buying a bus pass and food there weren't too many other necessary expenditures. |
* Food: |
I would advise to go to the Biergarten in Salzburg. They have great food, an exciting atmosphere, and good beverages. Also, go to the Thursday market in Mirabell platz and get the fried chicken. The bakery's are also delicious and the kebabs are to die for. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I loved the side trips we went on even though they moved a little slow. They helped prepare you for interactions with the locals when you travelled outside the program. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Salzburg was a very safe city. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | I suggest having at least a year or two of college experience before participating on a trip like this because the inexperienced students had the hardest time adjusting to college life in a foreign country. A word of advise is enjoy... don't stress about things, they usually work out and become a great story. |
