Phenomenal Past Review

By (Social Work., University of South Carolina - Columbia) - abroad from 01/13/2014 to 05/03/2014 with

IFSA/Alliance: Varanasi - The City, The River, The Sacred

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Varanasi is endlessly confusing, and therefore endlessly fulfilling. I learned about my spirituality, ability to adjust to new environments, and the world. The most influential part about my experience, however, was learning to love learning again. The program directors are great and help you along the way while host families make cultural immersion unavoidable and wonderful.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
