How My Year Abroad in Greece Changed My Life Past Review
By Kristen C (Global Studies, Middle Tennessee State University) - abroad from 09/16/2012 to 06/10/2013 with
American College of Thessaloniki (ACT): Thessaloniki - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I learned more about myself in my time abroad than I have ever before. I learned how to adapt and become flexible in new environments, widened my networking, and learned about a culture apart from my own. It was most definitely worth while. I am more motivated than ever.

* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The friendliest, warming people I've ever met abroad. They immediately make you feel at home. They do everything they can to make sure you have what you need and that you're comfortable. From taking you out to dinner to helping you arrange travel plans, they were the BEST! I miss them every day! |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I liked that all the study abroad students were grouped together in the same apartment building, but it wast just a little too expensive. |

There was a doctor on campus, so we didn't have to worry about finding a hospital or worrying about language barriers. When we did have to take a vaccine for our residence permit, we went as a group so it wasn't a hassle. |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Nearly Native or Trail BlazerCraving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.' |
