Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I thought it was challenging for me because I do not speak fluent Armenian. It helped me learn the language a lot and feel comfortable understanding conversations.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Very much. Our classes were mixed with Americans and Armenians from the country. I thought it was amazing to be in a class that was so diverse.

I always felt safe and there was no issues!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I would love to re-live this program and try to use the language more while being in the country. I also loved the outdoor hikes and views we were able to see.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Most things in Armenia are cheap so the student budget was perfect.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Try and talk to people! It's easy to be shy but once you break the ice and start using the language, it becomes more natural. You know more than you think you do!
