I got to opt out of the mean plan, which saved me money. I mostly cooked in my kitchen. It was little stressful not having a meal plan though |

Easy healthcare access $20 doctor fee, but had no problem setting up the appointment |

Metro easy to navigate, Fine to walk as a pedestrian. Little to no street harassment. I was fine traveling alone or in groups |

Spent $250 a month on food and travel plus shopping expenditures. DC is an expensive city, but easy to manage with budgeting. |

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Put only what you need for that month in your checking account, and monitor it throughout the week. Always know how much you're spending |
