Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
This program was not ridiculously hard, but it was very time-consuming, and required our all. It was also extremely rewarding and quite inspiring. This had to do with the coursework, specifically. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
They were ALWAYS there when I needed them, and they still are. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I lived in an apartment with another member of the program. |
* Food: |
It was expensive, but fine. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I wish that we did more with the students who actually went to American University. I felt like I only got to know my class. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I didn't have any issues. |
* Safety: |
I didn't notice anything bad. Everywhere we went as a class, I felt comfortable. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
This experience was one I will never forget. It was so eye-opening, and completely changed my views on the world. I am forever thankful for the wonderful professor I had, and this program overall. I plan on keeping in touch with my professor far into the future. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
This program was VERY expensive. Public transportation was the root cause of this. I wish that AU was more clear about how expensive that would be. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I don't know, but most of it went to transportation. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | PREPARE FOR THE METRO, FINANCIALLY! It adds up. |
