Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The classes were very group based and besides that only really required 2-3 tests for the semester per class. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The university was very nice compared to the public ones and the facilities were great. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Yes, had a great house with a good location and host mom. |
* Food: |
Food at home was a little basic but good and it was great to have other options outside. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Good, got to meet students, go on day trips with friends and my host mom, and eat outside a little. It was a little hard to connect or hangout with the chilean students at my university but got to meet groups from my program peers. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
Had a sinus infection and it was very easy to see a doctor and get medication that was covered by geoblue. |
* Safety: |
Felt pretty safe following the advice to hide devices ect. I would just be careful walking on the street with music/things in a bag in case of people trying to steal stuff. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
I am glad I went and practiced spanish but I felt a little understimulated and wished it was easier to connect and feel like an integrated person. |

The Academic or LinguistYou went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you! |
Individual Course Reviews
Course Name/Rating: |
Ciclo Vital |
Course Department: | Enfermeria |
Instructor: | Rosalina Garcia |
Instruction Language: | Spanish |
Comments: | It was not too challenging but more interesting as we got to learn and practice the clinical sides of things, learning about vital signs and physical exams for patients of all ages. Class work was presentations with a few tests, participated rarely. Also had lab and a application portion where we got to practice skills and then apply them with patients at a nursing home and a supermarket. |
