The apartment we were living in was an old communist era apartment. it was ugly. but really the biggest issue was that it was far from the city center.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Buying groceries and making your own food at home will be waaaaay cheaper than eating out all the time.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? I would encourage the use of a pocket dictionary and a highlighter. Look up words that you don't know. If you find yourself looking up the same word over and over, highlight it. Flip through your dictionary and look at the highlighted words every now and then.
