FULLFILLING YOUR DREAM IN GRANADA! Past Review
By Liz C (communications, University of Kansas) for

I want to work abroad and possible live there. Also, I took some of their values and applied them to my life. Being in a country that everyone had a related culture was really something.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
It was about the same. Still had homework with some professors and some didn't give any. The grading system is easily translated and if you are willing to work a little harder and break through the language barrier, everything will be fine. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
They went to the doctor with you if you needed to go, they helped with classes, add or drop classes, find textbooks and tutor. The administration in the office was from the host country so they knew everything. the program size was perfect with 63 people, I made about 30 best friends. It is a family size community, everyone taking care for each other. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
had to buy a towel and shampoo and conditioner. I bought an umbrella and that is about it I believe |
* Food: |
Las Escuelas! By the botanical jardins! 3 euro bomb tapas! |
* Social & Cultural Integration:

You won't get bored. Keep your ears open about parades, mostly every fiesta has one but they all have parties. There might be music festivals by the river or in the Albyzin. |

Yes
|

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
|
Language acquisition improvement? |
Always speak, don't be afraid to mess up, speak with your friends even if they speak English. Most people would speak English in the large tourist cities but you can't rely on anyone to know. |
