By Kevin D (Marketing., Providence College) for
Arcadia: Brisbane - Queensland University of Technology
Absolutely, once I got over the stress of work, I was able to go places I'll never be able to go again. I'm very glad I chose to study here.
Personal Information
How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 0-2 weeks |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Not many projects/assessments, but the ones I had were very time-consuming and quite difficult. The grading system is rough and it takes getting used to. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Very organized and well-planned. I have no discrepancies. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
My own room, bathroom, and shower. 6 rooms per apartment, and we share a kitchen, so we got to know one another. |
* Food: |
No food provided (besides some BBQs and free dinners put on by Arcadia). I have to shop every week, and cook a couple times a week. Teaches me how to fend for myself though, which is good. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
AFL football game, Byron Bay, Melbourne, Pancake Manor |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Very very safe city! Don't go into the Botanic Gardens at night though. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Budget 100 dollars/week max. You're gonna spend a lot of money, especially on trips. |
