I had a studio apartment thanks to University Flats. So worth it! |

Food was expensive. Make sure you have plenty of spending money whether eating in or out. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Lots of drinking and partying obvious but plenty of other options if you don't want to drink. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
They had plenty of information during orientation, but I never had to use health services. |
* Safety: |
Cops and security everywhere. Felt really safe. |

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Do group dinners with the flat and use moneymonk to split the costs of the flat. |

English was the first language. Maori was present, but only a few vocabulary terms, like Kia Ora, were encouraged. |

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | I wish I knew how cold it got in Dunedin. Be prepared to wear several layers INSIDE as flats don't have central heating. |

The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
