Greater understanding of self, more confident, more sincere, and self-sufficient. - Providence College View Entire Review
I learned firsthand the perspectives other people have of Americans, and the perspective of a country thats actually pretty small and isolated and have a true appreciation of the natural world around them. My experience made me want to go back to New Zealand, possibly right after I graduate. - Trinity University View Entire Review
It was amazingly worthwhile... I went there focused, stressed, and feeling like graduate school was already pressing down on me as a junior. I left relaxed, more independent, and feeling like I can do anything in the way I want. I don't have to listen to others and do what they want me to do, it is possible to be independent! - Trinity University View Entire Review
Studying in NZ has made me appreciate the outdoors much more. I love knowing that I now have friends all over the world. It was very valuable taking science courses at a university other than my home university. View Entire Review
Past Review
Absolutely! I experienced a lot of personal growth from having to cook on my own and be completely on my own for a semester. My self confidence increased and I realized I don't mind traveling by myself. Studying abroad is amazing, fun, and eye-opening. I really encourage everyone to do it. - The College of William and Mary View Entire Review

About

Otago is New Zealand’s oldest university, ranked in the top 1% of universities globally, with world-class facilities and extremely high student satisfaction ratings on all aspects of university life.  It’s situated on a residential campus with the majority of students living nearby, in the fun and active seaside college town of Dunedin, allowing ample opportunity to engage with kiwi life.

Its field-study-rich academic offerings include strengths in environmental science, law, geology, and political studies.  There are thousands of courses available in subjects ranging from anthropology, film & media studies, and theater studies to ecology, genetics, biochemistry, bioethics, business, psychology and physical education. The University of Otago also has one of only two medical schools in the country.

Many science courses use the environment around Otago as their laboratory, creating opportunities to get out and experience the real New Zealand. Regardless of the courses you choose, you can expect to look at the world in new ways.
