I learned about independence, I learned who I am as a person, I learned how to appreciate life.

They were super nice but lazy and it was hard to get them to do things

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Loved my host parents! My friends in apartments did not like their housing. So homestay is the way to go

The food was delicious!

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I took classes with mainly Americans and it was harder to meet Spaniards

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I didn't get sick

* Safety:

Granada is a super safe city! We would walk back home in the middle of the night and would have no problems.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

5 the city itself is very cheap especially with the tapas culture

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you are in a homestay you don't need to buy extra food because you already have a meal given to you. Take advantage of it!

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The size- it is very small

  • communication with the program advisors
  • class in spanish at the actual university are an extra fee
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I knew how to meet more locals. It wasn't until the second half of the program that I started to get to know more locals
