London is the multicultural hub of Europe Past Review
By Thomas A (COMPUTER AND INFORMATION SCIENCES AND SUPPORT SERVICES., The University of Texas at Austin) for
Arcadia: London - University College London
It was amazing to be able to travel and experience the cultural history of Europe. In America, 100 years is a long time; In Europe, 100 miles is a long distance. It's a very different change of pace.
Personal Information
| How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 0-2 weeks |
Review Your Program
| * Overall educational experience Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. | Good professors, knowledgeable in their domain. Tests are done anonymously to ensure fairness in evaluation. |
| * Host Country Program Administration On-site administration of your program | Arcadia occasionally gives the feeling of trying to nickle and dime you, and some housing options are a 45 minute travel from the campus. Otherwise the staff was extremely friendly, and the organized excursions were amazing. |
| * Housing: How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
 |
| * Food: | Student is responsible for their own food. Eating out is very expensive in downtown London |
| * Social & Cultural Integration: How integrated did you feel with the local culture? | The London Tube is it's own attraction, and the city is so international that it almost became surprising to hear another English-speaker when walking around. |
| * Health Care: How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
 |
| * Safety: | London is an amazingly safe city, and the health insurance that comes with the program plays nicely with the NHS. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? | Yes
 |
Finances
| * Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget? (1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
