By Dana M (accounting, Bryant University) for
Arcadia: London - University of Westminster
I wouldn't trade my experience for anything in the world.
Personal Information
How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 1 month - 6 months |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Workload was only papers for me- I did not have a single test. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Arcadia did not seem as familiar with my University as it did with others around the city. I would have liked to have gone through a different program provider, but still at the University of Westminster. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
Try out local pubs; supermarkets have essentially the same items as in America so its relatively easy to cook for yourself. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
we went to Windsor Castle during Orientation. Besides that, any trips that we wanted to go on w/ Arcadia we had to pay for. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Felt very safe and it was a very clean city compared to a lot of other parts of Europe. I got sick whilst abroad and the University of Westminster's Health Services helped me; not a difficult process. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Try to explore more areas around London and England, rather than the typical "explore Europe" study abroad students do. You'll appreciate the English culture so much more. |
