Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I went on this trip to get a small taste of the Japanese-lifestyle and I end up getting a tremendous amount of the pie. Being in Japan, learning their cultural values and seeing them in practice every day has been a life-changing experience. We got the opportunity to visit shrines and temples from which we learned a fragment of Japan's history and values. The visit to Hiroshima was one of the most remarkable ones. The Hiroshima museum is a place that demonstrates the unity of the Japanese people after the bombing. We got the chance to learn more about the events people faced the days after the bombing, as well as stories of how people and families lives were affected. Aside from the historical and cultural context we experienced during our visit, we also got the chance to see beautiful landscapes as Miyajima Shrine, Nara, and Fushimi Inari. Being part of this program was one of the best decisions I have made, it changed me and gave me meaningful memories. -Jose Mireles |
