Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Workload was easier than home school, Spanish testing was way too easy, sounds weird but it was almost insulting how little they expected us to learn in spanish. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Great |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Was great to meet people from all over the world, housing was a little iffy, old with roaches, but it seemed like they were fixing it up. It was a lot of fun though and you met tons of people. The last two weeks they changed the rules and we weren't allowed to use the kitchen after 10 pm, ludicrous. Really sucked if you got home late on a sunday from traveling and weren't allowed to eat until the next morning. Also, I think the maids stole my wine a few times so hide your wine, they didn't take anything else just wine. Also i was literally like 100 yards from a Metro station and class. Everything besides personal belongings was provided. |
* Food: |
Not really applicable. I had a kitchen so I cooked my own meals, but whenever the program took us out to eat it was amazing. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Between the housing and barcelona itself, you have plenty of things to do. Go on the Morocco and Granada trips with the program if you can. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Just don't be stupid and watch your stuff. I felt safer in Barcelona then I do in most parts of San Francisco and LA. I have no idea about health issues, never had to use them. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

Comments: | I think the professor took the slides offline without looking what was on them, he never seemed really prepared and talked down to us like we were idiots the whole time. Also he would run out of things to say about 40 mins into the class and then search youtube for unrelated videos until the end of class. |

Comments: | This was a great class, it was awesome learning about the history of spain and then going outside to see it first hand. The teacher was great, very engaging and brought enough stories in to make us interested while also making sure we learned the material, and you could tell she really cared about how we did which made me want to work harder to not make her sad. Very glad I took this class. |
