Most Americans would consider Beer Sheva to be "dangerous" because of its proximity to the Gaza Strip, but I never felt in danger. In fact, I felt safer there in Israel than I ever have here at home in the USA. |

Most people in town did not speak English. Even in the campus dining halls, the workers did not speak English. Learning and becoming proficient in Hebrew was imperative in Beer Sheva. |
