Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design: Jerusalem - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Honestly, how can say it all in a few sentences? The experiences that I have had, has changed me in many more ways than I can even process. To see what I have seen, having done the things that I have done have helped me become a better person. I would want to suggest anyone to go find their place in the world and reap it for every ounce that can be experienced.

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

In Israeli schools administration was always to busy for students.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I did not get sick so I did not need to use the health care.

* Safety:

In Hungary I was safe. In Israel I was also safe. There were military issues, but I was safe and aware.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Abroad there were different opportunities to find expensive and cheaper materials. I would say that a strong budget is very useful.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Costs of food was always different. Possibly 15 - 80$ a week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Apply for scholarships and funding to support your travels. Stay in touch with opportunities with your local community to sell art works, have a summer job. 20$ a week helps when you are planning ahead. I planned ahead and saved money. I also did an art fair and sold my art works and a fundraiser. I really exhausted all possibilities to afford to travel..
