Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The program was fantastic. We learned a lot through full cultural immersion among the residents of Barcelona. Each of our internships was based on our personal interests and skills, so we got to maintain an element of control while thrown into an entirely new environment. We experienced different excursions throughout the program that further allowed us to learn about the culture.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The team was knowledgeable and helpful throughout, always available for information or assistance.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Sometimes the food was great, sometimes it was kind of iffy, but they did take our suggestions.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Torres Winery, Carcassone Castle.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Barcelona is known for its pickpockets, but the staff was sure to advise us of the dangers and how to take safety precautions prior to our explorations of the city.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The ease of travel
  • Culture experiences
  • Friendliness of participants
* What could be improved?
  • More immersion at the university
  • Closer stay to the city center
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I would advise all students to prepare for the language barrier in Spain. Though you will learn some Spanish through the immersion of the job, it would help immensely to meet locals and gain further immersion if you already have a handle on the basics.
