What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I loved studying abroad and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about doing it. It was definitely the best thing I have done in my life. Picking up by myself and moving to another country for 6 months and starting a new life was amazing. Traveling and seeing the world changed my life. I feel stronger and more independent and wish I could go back.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 6 months+

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The location was nice and close to campus. The dorms were okay but expensive. Your actual bedroom is the size of a train cabin, tiny!The kitchen only contains a refrigerator, sink, counter space, and cabinets. Microwaves are not allowed. The worst part was that the administration was very strict with visitors and alcohol.

* Food:

Turkish food is excellent! You will end up loving yogurt and want to eat it with everything.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I'm not sure how much money I spent a week but overall I spent $6500 for food, traveling, and other personal expenses.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Just overestimate how much you are going to spend because its definitely going to be more than you think.
