Personal Information

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload and teaching methods were same as my home university, The grading system was a bit different but nothing was difficult.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The administration of the host university is TERRIBLE in American standards...very, very inefficient and HIGHLY disorganized. The answers to our questions vary depending on who answers them and it is very difficult to have them get things done. The grades from my study abroad academic quarter has not been submitted to my home university yet (it has been 3 months) and I had to extend my graduation from my home university due to this reason.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Sheets, pillow, and blankets needed to be bought. There aren't any stoves/ovens/microwave so everybody had to eat out everyday.

* Food:

Turkish food is AMAZING, but beware...if you are used to diversity in food (i.e. in America), it will be difficult as there aren't many foreign food options that are cheap.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

N/A

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Just be aware of your surroundings...just like you would in any other country.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? N/A

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
