Boston University: Dublin - Internship Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned a lot about myself, especially how to be alone in a foreign country and advocate for myself. I also made some amazing friends both from Boston University and from my internship in Dublin. I very much think this was worth it and I am so glad I went on this study abroad program.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Mary McCloskey was the absolute best, she was so helpful during the program with any questions we had. She also made the whole program so fun and interacted with us a lot which was very nice and made her very approachable when I was confused and needed to talk to her.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Having a bathroom in the dorm room was amazing, plus the kitchen was really nice.

* Food:

No dining hall which was fine, but the on campus dining options were just ok and often closed.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I definitely had to go out to meet people from Dublin and see local culture, but it was really easy to get around Ireland and see a lot of historic sites.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I overall had an amazing time and the program was really well organized.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I knew that Ireland is cold during the summer and it rains a lot. i also wish I knew that studying abroad, while amazing and so fun, can be a little mentally tiring and you need to make sure you take time for yourself.
