Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was a lot because it was a semester's worth of work that was packed in 4 weeks. Grading was based on participation, essays, written exams, and presentations. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
My expectations of the program were met. All resources were available. For example, medical, library, academic, etc. services were provided. The courses were very intense though since a semester was packed into four weeks. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
The program had students complete a dietary form to accommodate everyone. The quality and quantity of food was great. There were always leftovers. Only breakfast was provided on weekdays. Lunch and dinner was the responsibility of students. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Weekend excursions were organized. We went to a little town in France the first weekend. Other excursions included wine tasting, visiting other towns. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Pickpocketing is very popular in Europe and a few students were victims in Geneva. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Set a budget!!! |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
Language acquisition improvement? |
I am a fluent french speaker so i did not have trouble in Geneva. Most people in the city speak english though because it is an international hub so other students who were not fluent did not have trouble in their everyday interactions. |
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
