Boston University: London - London Internship Program

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The most unqualified, unorganized group of instructors I’ve ever seen.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The location was pretty nice

* Food:

Decent fast food options and convenience stores nearby

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Wish I had done a program that would allow me to take classes at a local institution with local students

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Loved everything about the city of London, hated everything about BU London.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

During the UNPAID internship period, I was not reimbursed for the daily expense of public transportation that added up to over 130 pounds a month just for the internship.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? More than enough
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Spend as much money you can on traveling

* What could be improved?
  • Administration
  • Professors
  • EUSA (agency that paired students with ridiculous, worthless, full time, unpaid internships)
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? That every single person involved in running the program is stupid and that I would be better off finding a program that would’ve allowed more freedom
