Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

It was very challenging at some points as directions weren't straightforward but overall a good learning experience

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I loved my Host country would 100% go back

* Housing:

I loved 2/3 of my suite mates! It was nice to get to meet new people

* Food:

Food was yummy. Mostly asian cuisine but overall similar to the United States

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

At first not as integrated as I would have liked but overall I made the most of the experience by going out and seeking opportunity to learn more about the Australian Culture

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Very well. They told us where to go and how to get there

* Safety:

I felt very safe. I walked an hour to and from my internship every week day and felt safe

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I loved the country, the people, and my internships. I built relationships that will all last for a long time and experiences that will also be in my memory.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Australia is very expense but definitely is worth it

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 300$
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I would recommend saving up for the trip as there are so many things to do but usually a flight or train ride away. Buy as little clothes as possible and use the money to focus on experiences

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
