Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I liked the teaching methods but I think there should've been a more structured vocab list to learn. I feel like focusing on a few words in different topics per week would've helped me more. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The strength was the opportunity to speak spanish and the engaging way the teachers taught spanish. The weakness was the lack of structure and the textbooks. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I loved our housing situation. Some things were difficult because of culture differences or and the lifestyle i was used to in the US, but I'm very glad I had the experience. |
* Food: |
The food was great but a few sundays there wasn't much to eat and we weren't officially served dinner...I didn't know if we were supposed to take something out of the fridge or not... |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I loved going to the jardin japones and the bellas artes. I think the cultural events greatly enriched this experience. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I felt safe except sometimes at night. After speaking to a few locals, I don't know if Once is the best neighborhood to house female international students. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
Language acquisition improvement? |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Have an open mind and try to make the best out of every situation, but share your feelings with others so you can work through them. Students who are open-minded and not afraid to speak spanish and get out of their comfort zone would most benefit. |
