Study Abroad Programs in London

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned so much. I gained a better appreciation of art and nature, and the connection between the two. I learned that I love plays and musicals, and the skills of the actors is amazing. I gained a better appreciation of England in general. It was my first time in a foreign country, so it was all very new to me. This trip was so worthwhile.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

My professors were very pro-active. They scheduled fun activities, and let us have time to do our own thing.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We didn't really talk to anyone but our own group, so we were always tourists. But we did get more comfortable and knew where places were, which was nice.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I think i only felt slightly uncomfortable once, and thankfully i was with a big group so it wasn't a big deal. Then i just never went back to that place. So my advice to future students would be to stay with people and avoid places that make you uncomfortable.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Well i definitely spent a lot of money each week cause i wanted to do stuff, go to musicals, and eat well. Food is expensive.

* Was housing included in your program cost? Yes

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 150
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you want to save money, don't eat out at restaurants.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The museums, plays, and other things that the professors planned for us built upon each other making the experience even more rich and rewarding.
  • I loved that we didn't have a curfew and that the professors didn't hover. We were trusted and allowed to do our own thing a lot of the time.
  • I loved the people i was with. We were able to do so many fun things together and we got along really well.
* What could be improved?
  • An easier way to keep everyone connected. Buying an international cellphone plan is expensive, and it was sometimes difficult to keep in touch without a phone.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I had known about a few places that i would have liked to stay longer at.
