Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I took study abroad courses designed to maximize the study abroad experience and they were the easiest courses that I have taken in my entire academic career.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I never needed to seek out any of the administration during my time abroad, but they were available if I needed them.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The housing was exceptional.

* Food:

We provided our own food and cooked in our apartment.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I felt kind of isolated from the local culture especially at the university.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Whenever I needed to see the university health center they were not able to see me even though I went there during their open hours and I had to seek a health care facility in the city. I did not need to receive any vaccines for this program.

* Safety:

I felt safe walking through the city most times. There was only one time that I had an uncomfortable situation on the street.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

If I were do this again, I would stay for a full year instead of one semester.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
