Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The professor was very knowledgeable about the subject of the course and was great at teaching it to the students.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The dorms were not great. We were really close to an underground station, pubs, and grocery stores, though.

* Food:

There is a Chinese food restaurant near the dorms that is really good. Also, Witherspoon's has good food for not much money. Wagamama (a Japanese restaurant) is the best. Candy Cakes near the West End has really good cupcakes.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The trips to see plays were great. They have the bst shopping in London, as well. The London Eye was a great experience.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Before we left, the city had a severe terrorism threat level, so I was kind of nervous. You should always try to find someone to go with you when you travel around the city.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Food is very expensive. The food at the university is not very good, so we ate at restaruants a lot.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Plan early to ensure that you have enough money to last the entire trip. Make good use of the three day weekends and the mini-break. Anyone who wants to study aborad but nervous about adjusting to a different environment should consider this program. because things aren't so drastically different in London.

Theatre/ Shakespeare

Instructor: Dr. Godwin

Comments: We learned so much about theatre. Obviously, studying in London, a city so rich in theatre history, was a valuable resource to the class. The professor knows so much about the theatre and Shakespeare and was wonderful teaching the students about them.
