Brigham Young University: London - London Study Abroad

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned more and observed more about different cultures. London is filled with people from all over the world, different races, religions, languages. Everyday on the street I became very aware of how many different cultures there are in the world, and how small of a percentage my own personal culture and values is when compared on an international level. This study abroad was 100% worth it.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The classes. I loved learning about English Literature and History while also seeing and experiencing it first hand.
  • I loved the freedom of being able to wonder and explore London on my own.
  • I always felt safe, and I always felt my professors were willing to help however they could.
* What could be improved?
  • More exposure to locals in London. It would have been great if we had the opportunity to take classes alongside university students from London.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Don't rely on finding others in your study abroad group to do things with you. Don't be afraid to go off on your own and explore and see what's important to you. Interact with the locals on a one on one basis.
