Brigham Young University: London - London Theatre Study Abroad

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned about quality theatre and about the history in London. It was definitely worthwhile.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Everything that was taught was new to me so I learned a lot! Although I learned a lot the amount of homework was just right. I still had time to enjoy my experience abroad while paying some attention to homework.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Studying theatre meant that all of the class discussions were based on on-site events.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

You can't get much better than a flat right across the street from Hyde Park

* Food:

All food was dependent on my cooking or whether or not I chose to eat out.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

You get to know a lot of "locals" in the wards you attend.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

No health care was required.

* Safety:

I never felt in danger or unsafe. London is the best city in the world!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Very expensive city... especially when you want to attend all of the Amazing Theatre there.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? At least $100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't spend so much money on food or even souvenirs. Experiences are definitely more important and more worthwhile.
