Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The intensity between diving, workshops, rescue drills, and down time is perfectly balanced. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The councilors and administrators are very on top of everything. There are people looking after you 24/7 |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I loved living with my boat mates. I recommend coming prepared with a place to hold clothes, because space in the cabins could go fast. |
* Food: |
The food is as good as you make it. I really took to cooking and did extra cook duty just for the fun of it. I learned on this trip really how to prepare food, because I had zero prior knowledge. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
When in towns, you are constantly interacted with the native people. They are all very nice, and I recommend you buy as much fruit as possible, because the best papaya I have ever had came from a small fruit stand on one of the islands. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
The whole program is very safe. All health issues are directly dealt with. When I stepped on a sea urchin, I was quickly helped by my counselors, who quickly removed them and sterilized it. |
* Safety: |
It is completely safe. Each dive is always looked at ahead of time to make sure it is safe enough. The councilors are very conscious of the students safety, and go to lengths to make sure everyone is comfortable in what they are about to do. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
The experiences I had with my boat mates and my councilors is unforgettable. I have made friends in which I would stay in touch with for the rest of my life. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
I only has to pay for things i wanted. All other things, such as food, was bought by Broadreach. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 40$ |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Bring the amount of money you think you will spend. Therefore you stick to buying only what necessary, with some extra money to buy gifts for your family or for yourself. |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
