Broadreach: Program at Sea - Caribbean Underwater Discoveries Voyage
I got to know some of my closest friends that I still talk to more than three months later. I gained a lot of self-confidence in my ability to get outside of my comfort zone and travel independently while pursuing my interests.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
There was a lot of resources and support that made me feel comfortable |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The boats are a little small for the amount of people on the trip, but they were very clean and well-kept. |
* Food: |
The food tasted good. Understandably, its a challenge to prepare meals on a boat and while there was some variety, I would wish for some more healthier choices. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
When we were on shore, we had opportunities to interact with the locals and do a few activities with them such as glassblowing and community service. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
None of us had any health issues at all. The places we visited had good access to healthcare and we didn't need any special medication or vaccines to go on the program. |
* Safety: |
The places that we went ashore were all nice towns with friendly locals and I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe during those times. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
It was really amazing to live on a boat and sleep under the stars while meeting new friends and learning how to scuba and sail |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
The costs for equipment were upfront and reasonable and the instructors made sure that we spent our money for souvenirs and food while ashore wisely |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | less than $50 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Spend your shopping money wisely |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
