What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained so many friendships! If I could do this program again I would! I am typically a very shy person and this program really helped me learn to open up and I made friends that hopefully I will have forever. Also I really loved the academic part. If you are the academic type I highly recommend this program!

* Food:

The food was great for the most part! One person can only handle so much rice and beans though!

We mainly focused on sea turtles but we were able to get a pretty good feel of the culture! Especially when we went into town in tortugeuro.

* Health Care:

We did not have any problems with the health care

* Safety:

The whole time I was in Costa Rica I felt totally safe

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

easy because we did not have to pay for anything.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? maybe $50 and that was just on souveniers and gifts. All food was provided
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? there is only one initial payment. Other than that, everything is included

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
