Burren College of Art: Time Space and Inspiration Past Review
By Sarah H (Studio Arts, Wellesley College) for
Burren College of Art: Ballyvaughan - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I appreciated the time I had to develop my own thoughts about art and what kind of art I'd like to make. I learned to appreciate a culture I had little interest in before coming to Ireland.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Focus was more on intellectual basis for art than on technical execution of art. Had to organize one's own time, primarily, as I was taking mostly tutorial courses. |

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Housing was very comfortable, though expensive. Bedding and cookware were provided for, and the landlord was very kind & amenable to suggestions. |
* Food: |
School cafe cooks were very accommodating of dietary restrictions, and the food was delicious and plentiful. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Wonderful field trips to Galway that allowed me to help organize and participate in live art performances and feel like I was a part of the Irish arts scene. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Had to go to the town doctor once for a cold, and a secretary drove me. Overall, staff was very caring when it came to helping with health related issues. |

Yes
|
