Brazil: Amazing Education and Cultural Experience I Will Never Forget! Past Review
By Natalie H (MBA, University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign) for
Campus Brasil: Traveling - Faculty-Led Study Tours in Brazil (MBA, Undergrad Business, Science, etc)
Extremely. It opened my eyes to how things are in other countries and cultures. Since my trip, I have returned to Brazil and traveled more throughout South America. I believe I am a more well rounded person because of this trip and it has inspired me to want to travel more and someday live abroad.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was appropriate for the trip. The majority of lectures were very interesting and applicable to Brazilian and American education. |

The employees of Campus Brasil were extremely helpful for every step of the trip. They managed our time well which allowed us to do a lot of activities and see a lot of sights, yet still have free time to explore the culture at our leisure. They were excellent translators and helped us to purchase food and souvenirs. There were two advisors with us so that we could split into groups and someone was always around for anything we needed. They were extremely patient with us and tried to provide the best experience possible. They were always in a great mood and providing entertainment for fun facts to brighten up some of the long bus trips. Campus Brasil made my study abroad experience great and I don't think it would have been nearly as successful without them. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The hotels were very nice and in good central locations so that we could walk around in the city and find food and other necessities nearby. |
* Food: |
Campus Brasil was very good at finding different types of foods for us to try. The first restaurant they picked was a Brazilian steakhouse which was excellent! They typically brought us to very nice buffets which accommodated everyone's dietary needs and wants. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The social aspects of the trip were great. We were able to go to some beaches and clubs to experience the local culture and music. We also attended a soccer match which was great to be able to see the cultural aspects of soccer and to see how everyone interacts together to support their favorite team. The sight seeing stops were also nice, such as the Christ and the Sugar Loaf in Rio. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Campus Brasil made sure that we were always in safe locations and they helped to educate us on the basic precautions for safety in such a large city. Vaccinations were required, but they were simple vaccines provided by the University. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
