I have loved my experience abroad and I truly believe it will change my outlook on life. I have come back from England knowing I have international friends for life.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I really liked the grading system of the English. I feel that it requires students to mature and take responsibility for their studies. I feel that the American system is sometimes too soft on young adults in college. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
With the library a five minute walk from our house, and the university only ten, it was easy to get work done. The support services were often helpful, and the programs for International Students was excellent. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I liked the fact that my housing arrangments included a kitchen where I could cook myself food every night. I liked the ability to be independant. |
* Food: |
I cooked my own food so I was satisfied with what I bought. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The local people are very welcoming and the University has many social events to attend. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
You had to pay for your own health care. There really wasn't anything you could do if you got sick. You had to pay for everything yourself. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Always make sure that you carry your wallet in a pocket you can feel. Don't let your money get stolen. Also always plan for an extra few hundred dollars of spending money incase traveling arangments change. |
