Personal Information
How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 0-2 weeks |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I liked the workload, grading system, and teaching methods of England. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
I didn't feel as if the administration of the international programs even cared about the international students that much. Very low participation. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I liked my living arrangments, it was great location compared to both the library and the campus. |
* Food: |
Considering you buy your own food there really are no dietary restrictions. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The pub atmosphere in England is a big part of the social life, as is clubbing and sports. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
The health issues are hard because, as the English have free healthcare for citizens, the university doesn't have a health department. Because of this the cost of health expenses are horribly high. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | About twenty dollars on food, and about 50 dollars on personal expenses. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | You will want to travel more, and buy more souvenirs than you will expect. |
