Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Grading system is very different than American, also the fact that they have so little that goes into their overall grade is tough. I had taken a criminology class that was aimed towards 'seniors' in the major, and we were throw into it so quickly. The class was more of a review than a learning environment so I had no idea what was being talked about for most of the time. |

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The housing was very far from the library, about a 40 minute walk, which was rough (especially if your computer had just broken the day before the trip). It was not too bad from campus and nightlife, but it was definitely a good 20 minute walk. Our housemates were pretty great for the most part. There was some issues here and there but everyone got over it during 'house meetings'. |
* Food: |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Carnage was a great social event, which consisted of a giant pub crawl throughout Canterbury. Also the field trip to Stonehenge was absolutely wonderful. |
* Health Care:

|
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Probably about $100 dollars, if not more, a week. It was very expensive to live. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Being ripped off by companies, the exchange rate. |
