LONDON: Amazing Study Abroad Experience Past Review
By Justin H (Finance/Economics & Accounting, Spring Hill College) for
CCSA (Cooperative Center for Study Abroad): London - London Winter Intersession
I gained such a great understanding of myself while studying abroad. I am surely to encourage others to do a program. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The overall experience was quite different as compared to your normal learning experience in the U.S. This is mainly due to the experiences you are able to have while abroad as compared to in the U.S. I took Shakespeare, in London, which was an amazing course and allowed me to see and do Shakespearean things I could never imagine being able to do in the U.S. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
While getting things done was only a small problem. I had wireless internet which allowed for communication. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
We were housed in the Hampstead suburb of London and the location was amazing. We were provided with the necessities. |
* Food: |
Some meals were provided by the program and they were, to be polite, not very appetizing. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
The area we stayed was very safe. The instructors were always available for assistance and security was frequent around the campus. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

Comments: | Yes, the course was challenging and enlightening at the same time. We had numerous field-trips and activities allowing us to see first-hand Shakespeare. The instructor was well-prepared and thoroughly knew her information.. She had a passion for the subject, unseen by other professors. |
Credit Transfer Issues: | No, but I would suggest you verify the program with your home institution prior to getting involved if the transfer is something you desire. |
