A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The large range and amount of shows i was able to see
  • There was plenty of time to explore things I was personally interested in
  • It was a defining experience for me
* What could be improved?
  • emphasizing that traveling is difficult and it's normal to feel overwhelmed
  • Maybe wish i had learned more about the mainstream culture beforehand
  • classes starting a half hour later ?
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? You wont have fun if you aren't still taking care of yourself first. don't overextend physically or mentally. Be kind to yourself. Traveling is stressful and difficult***. Allow yourself the space to feel frustrated and angry if you need to be, while also acknowledging that the act of traveling, and those feelings, are temporary. I had such an appreciation for all of the theatrical aspects going in because i had been assigned to look into the shows we would be seeing beforehand. I wish that we had done the same with the museums!
