Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I loved that the classes were small and that the teachers were so passionate about teaching us. I would have liked to have taken classes with students that were not just in my program though. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
CEA Ireland: Dublin is very small, which has it's advantages and disadvantages. I loved that I was able to get 1:1 education. However, this also had its negatives. When getting involved in an international education I would have like to have been more submersed in the culture. With classes being only Americans in my program, it often felt like I was on a month long vacation. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Living in the apartments, we were often worried about being charged extra for electricity because electricity had to be turned off when no in use but this lead to cold showers. However, there was a apartment manager on-site who was often difficult to work with but was better than not having one at all. |
* Food: |
All food was mainly Americanized. Often times I ate more Italian than any other dish. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Field Trips were amazing including, dog races and Galway Cliffs of Mohr however, it often felt like we were tourists. There was never a time when I felt like I was submersed in the culture, even on the Aran Islands. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
As long as you were not doing irresponsible things there was no safety hazards. I did not feel any less safe than would have been at my university. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | This program is for somebody who has never traveled to Europe before. Ireland was an amazing experience however, I did not feel like I gained true international experience from the program. While in Ireland I did have the opportunity to meet other international individuals, either in the pubs or in our housing. I woul |
